01 | Specialty Gynecology Consultations

Some gynecologic concerns need more than a brief visit. Whether you are seeking a second opinion or have questions about a new or long-standing diagnosis, specialty consultations provide time to review your symptoms, medical history, previous evaluations, and treatment experiences in detail. 

Together, we will develop a care plan and help you better understand your diagnosis and treatment options, whether you choose to continue your care at Althea or return to your current provider.

02 | Pelvic Pain, Vulvar & Vaginal Specialty Care

Pelvic, vulvar, and vaginal symptoms can have many contributing factors and may require a more detailed evaluation. We provide specialized care for chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia, lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, vulvar itching, and other complex concerns.

Your care considers how your symptoms developed, what has already been tried, and how they affect your daily life when discussing treatment and ongoing management.

03 | Sexual Health & Pelvic Floor Care

Sexual health and pelvic floor concerns can involve physical, hormonal, musculoskeletal, and emotional factors. We begin by evaluating the different phases of sexual function including libido, arousal and orgasm and understanding your goals.

We take the time to understand what you are experiencing, answer your questions, and discuss treatment options based on your needs and comfort, with coordination with other specialists when appropriate.

04| Perimenopause, Menopause & Hormone Management

Perimenopause and menopause can look different for every woman. We consider your symptoms, health history, individual risk factors, and priorities when discussing hormone therapy, nonhormonal treatments, and ongoing management.

Specialty care may be particularly helpful if you are experiencing side effects from hormone therapy, have medical conditions that complicate treatment, or continue to have symptoms despite medication.

05 | General Gynecology & Preventive Care

General gynecology includes preventive services as well as evaluation of common gynecologic concerns. We provide recommended screenings and care for new or ongoing symptoms, with additional time and support available if you are preparing for your first pelvic exam, Pap test, or IUD insertion, or have experienced discomfort during previous examinations.
